    Learning objectives
    After having completed this course or attained an equivalent competence level, the student:

    - make use of general vocabulary

    - express themself orally and in writing

    - understand elementary texts and simple speech

    - use the most central structures of Swedish

    - assess and develop their language learning skills

    - take part of the course Professional Swedish/Svenska för arbetslivet
    Starting level and linkage with other courses
    To be able to successfully participate in this course, student needs to know the following knowledge, skills and tools:

    The course is intended for students who have not passed the placement test in Swedish. The course prepares the student for the Key Competence course Professional Swedish/Svenska för arbetslivet.

    The starting level of the course is A2 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
    Contents
    Grammar topics:

    - question asking words
    - time expressions and numbers
    - nouns
    - adjectives
    - verbs
    - personal pronouns
    - word order

    In addition to revising grammar and structures the student also practices vocabulary and expressions related to e.g. small talk and studies.
    Teaching methods and instruction

    Contact sessions twice a week and independent study

    Learning material and recommended literature

    material on moodle as well as material handed out on lessons

    Working life connections

    The course prepares students for the course Professional Swedish in which students learn essential Swedish communication skills related to their study field.
