    Learning objectives
    After having completed this course or corresponding course, the student:
    - recognizes career opportunities in one’s field
    - identifies where and how to look for employment
    - is able to create a distinguishable and targeted CV
    - is able to create a personal and targeted job application
    - is able to prepare for recruitment interview
    - identifies and appreciates the importance of job-seeking skills

    This course is included in Keys to Studies and Career which is one of the Haaga-Helia key competences.

    Teaching methods and instruction

    The course will have lectures, workshops and independent work at home. Regular class attendance will be mandatory.

    The course will focus on job seeking strategies OTHER THAN applying to job ads with CV and cover letter. If you haven´t learned about the Finnish way of job application materials, it is advised that you take Employment in Finland course.

    About Job Seeking Skills course:
    Looking for more than just the traditional job hunt? Our Job Seeking Skills course teaches you how to find hidden opportunities and connect directly with employers—even when there are no job ads. You will learn how to craft standout open applications, approach people on LinkedIn, and make cold contacts that work. You will hear real-life success stories for inspiration, and get clear action steps to keep you moving forward on your job seeking journey. Practical workshops will provide some feedback, that will help you to reflect and improve your strategy.
    The course will briefly discuss, but not focus on CV and cover letter. Instead, you will learn several other strategies with practical tips and examples that you can use to be successfull in your job search.

    Most learning materials, guides and presentations will be shared on Moodle.
