    Learning objectives
    Student is able to use most of the software engineering skills needed in solving the real customer problem. Student is able to understand and document customer’s needs and to propose appropriate software solutions. Student is able to independently acquire unknown technology knowledge and skills. Student can, as a member of the virtual international team, implement a valid and ready-to-use solution to the customer’s problem. Student is familiar with Scrum methods.
    Starting level and linkage with other courses
    The course is suitable for (3-) 4-6th semester students that have completed Haaga-Helia’s software development courses with good grades.

    Students’ grade averages from Haaga-Helia’s own software development courses will be used as an acceptance criteria. Enrolled students may also be invited for an interview as part of the selection process.
    Contents
    This course is targeted to software development students of Haaga-Helia’s Tietojenkäsittely and Business Information Technology programmes. In this course, students will join a project team from our partner university at Switzerland to develop a web or mobile application using modern technologies to an assigned customer.

    The course is held in co-operation with Hes-So University of Applied Sciences.

    The course includes a one week intensive face-to-face period where students and project teams from Hes-So and Haaga-Helia will work on their projects. The intensive week will take place either in Hes-So (Switzerland) or Haaga-Helia (Helsinki, Pasila). If the intensive week occurs in Switzerland, Haaga-Helia students are entitled to apply for a travel grant from Haaga-Helia's international affairs office. Check the course's implementation description for more information about the intensive week.

    IMPORTANT NOTICE: This implementation contains a face-to-face intensive week in Helsinki (Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences). Hes-So students will travel to Finland.
