    Learning objectives
    You learn to use Circular Business Canva for community development purposes form circular economy perspective. You will learn to use other tools and practices for developing sustainable actions in cooperation with the business community.
    The developed community changes from course to another.

    No prerequisites.

    This is a Nordplus funded project course. Haaga-Helia has 5 (five) student places on this course. Students are asked to send a motivation letter to liisa.wallenius@haaga-helia.fi as they enroll to the course. Then the intensive course participants will be selected.
    Contents
    • Sustainability and circular economy – perspectives, participant country examples, host country and commissioner insights
    • Digital Dasboard for KPI’s
    • Tools for human resources in circularity
    • Nature and circularity
    • Hands on development work with Circular Business Canva for business community development
    • Work in international teams and learning to work in multi-cultural and -disciplinary teams, documentation and sharing experiences (diary and
    social media posts).
    Assessment criteria
    Assessment criteria - grade 1
    When the implementation type of the course is CONTACT, ONLINE or BLENDED it is required that the student is present during those teaching hours that are marked in the study schedule. If you are absent more than 25 %, your grade will be lowered by one. If you are absent more than 50 %, the course is failed.


    The students a familiar with circular economy and tools that can be used to solve client problems. They have, as a team, developed a solution for the client problem and present it with help of a prototype. They reflect on the teamwork and outcomes on personal and team level at the end of the course.
    Assessment criteria - grade 3
    The students have a good understanding of circular economy and tool that can be used to create idea solutions for the client problem. They work as a team and communicate in a clear manner. They present their solutions prototype and explain it. They reflect learning progress and the outcomes of their work on individual and team level.
    Assessment criteria - grade 5
    The students have an excellent understanding of circular economy and create idea solutions using suitable tools. They propose viable ideas and solutions to the commissioner with a prototype and justify their choices. They work and communicate in professional manner and analyse their achievements on individual and team level.

    Continued assessment during the intensive week based on activity, team work and task completion
    Post-course assignment: Academic blog or article on the intensive week.
    Students' performance is graded on the following scale:
    Excellent (5), Very good (4), Good (3), Satisfactory (2), Fair (1), Fail (0).

    Teaching methods and instruction

    Pre-study of circular economy as instructed prior to the intensive week.

    Intensive project activities Sunday - Friday in Estonia (7 - 12 April)
    This is an international Baltic-Nordic Nordplus course with participants from 13 universities.
    Students work in team on a real business challenge for a commissioner using Circular Business Canva.

    Daily briefing lectures, team work, coaching sessions, company and industry visits in the business environment in question.
    Travel and accommodation will be arranged by the project.
