    Learning objectives
    Upon successful completion of this course, the student understands the ICT processes in regards to a real Business/ICT projects. The student is able to work in customer contact and solve challenges and problems in co-operation with various parties. The student is able to take responsibility in the project team in his/her own role.
    Student is able to work, familiarize his/herself with the topic and apply his/her learning independently.
    Starting level and linkage with other courses
    The course applies previously learned skills to the implementation of a project. Therefore, before participating in the course, it is recommended that the student has completed the following courses:
    - Introduction to Networks (ICI004AS2AE)
    - Linux servers (ICI003AS2AE)
    - Information Security (ICI002AS2AE)
    - Windows Servers (ICI001AS2AE)
    - Cloud Service Technologies (ICI003AS3AE)
    Contents
    The student will participate as a team member or project leader in a project in one of the following main focus areas:
    • Computer networking and technologies
    • Server platforms and operating systems
    • Cloud Services
    • Software Development technologies in Cloud Platforms
    • Information Security
    • Internet of Things

    The type and purpose of the project is generally based on a commission and could be containing:
    • Network services deployment / testing
    • Operating system and server design / testing / implementation
    • Management of information services
    • Cloud Platform design, implementation and testing
    • Software Development in Cloud Platforms, design, implementation and testing
    • Implementation, management and development of information security
    • Penetration testing
    Assessment criteria
    Assessment criteria - grade 1
    Grade 1
    The student has participated in the project but the individual contribution is minor and/or the quality of the deliverables is not or barely fulfilling the target.
    Assessment criteria - grade 3
    Grade 3
    The student has well participated in the project and the individual contribution is on a good level with timely and qualitative deliverables.
    Assessment criteria - grade 5
    Grade 5
    The student has been a key member of the project and the individual contribution has clearly had a great impact on the project outcome.

    Teaching methods and instruction

    Your own project is the heart of the course. Everything else just supports this.

    Work in 1-3 person group on your very own project idea.

    You're responsible for advancing your project. You'll get advice and support from your group's guiding teacher.

    You get to present your work to classmates. This is also a change to get and give feedback and ideas for the project.

    Learning material and recommended literature

    Your own project affects the literature chosen. Some generic tool or project management material will be pointed out on the course. Some commonly used tools are git version control and Linux.

    Projects come in many sizes and success levels, so don't be baffled if some of them look amazing. The success of some projects has taken both teachers and project members by surprise.

    Possibility to bring in and work on real life business cases. We recommend continuous publication on the project. This is a great way to build your portfolio for that dream job. After all, 1-3 persons doing 10 credits each makes this one of the largest projects in your studies.

    Alternative learning methods

    In case student wishes to complete the course with recognition of prior learning (RPL), he should enroll the course normally and contact teacher at the start of the course to start the RPL process. RPL is only possible if you have demonstrated project experience in projects in the course area. Your responsiblities of those projects should be clear, verified and of sufficient size.
