The tasks and competences of the key European Union institutions (and the United Nations, TBC)
Addressing key EU, (UN) and global issues eg climate change, diversity and inclusion, Brexit and trade
EU and UN terminology and related concepts Introduction to legal English
.English in administrative and legal discourse
Contact classes including workshops and lectures (attendance required) in class /Zoom/on site at Pasila (TBC)
Final written exam on English for international communication in the last contact lesson
Independent Learning Assignments and presentations to be duly completed and returned according to the instructions given in the topic.
The students will gain knowledge of the current role and objectives of the EU (and other relevant international organisations) and be introduced to the career opportunities that the Eu offers (visiting Lectures).
