    Learning objectives
    The aim of the course is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of strategic people management. The student examines strategic people management as a critical success factor influencing organizational success. The student understands the underlying theories and recognizes their significance in practice. The student explores the role of organizational culture, responsibility, and the impact of data and technology in strategic people management and analyses their impact in real-life situations with a development-oriented approach.
    Starting level and linkage with other courses
    This course unit is part of the master's degree curriculum. Completion of the course requires master's study entitlement.

    Assessment criteria - grade 1
    When the implementation type of the course is CONTACT, ONLINE or BLENDED it is required that the student is present during those teaching hours that are marked in the study schedule. If you are absent more than 25 %, your grade will be lowered by one. If you are absent more than 50 %, the course is failed.

    The student demonstrates satisfactory competence in relation to the course learning objectives. The student identifies some of the theories, perspectives and concepts presented in the course. The student weakly identifies their implications for practice.
    Assessment criteria - grade 3
    The student demonstrates good competence in relation to the course learning objectives. The student has good command of the theories, perspectives and concepts presented in the course. The student is able to analyse their implications for practice.
    Assessment criteria - grade 5
    The student demonstrates excellent competence in relation to the course learning objectives. The student profoundly masters theories, perspectives and concepts presented in the course. The student critically and thoroughly applies the concepts and theories learned in the course to analyse and create solutions for practical work situations.

    Teaching methods and instruction

    The course is a 100% virtual course, based on the student's independent study.

    The course's Moodle pages will open by October at the latest when the course begins. The Moodle pages will provide details related to completing the course.

    The course includes an optional a kick off lecture (time TBA). Its goal is to introduce the student to the course themes and how to complete the course successfully.

    Learning material and recommended literature

    The study material consists of books and articles related to the course topics. This material will be available in Moodle at the beginning of the course implementation.

    Working life connections

    The course content and assignments reflect the everyday life of companies and organizations. The implementations may include guest lectures, company visits, and/or company projects. Students apply the course content within the context of their chosen organizations.
