    Learning objectives
    Upon successful completion of this course, a student will be able to understand how to design and create better digital services by utilizing service design principles and existing technologies along with graphical design theories and principles.

    - Student learns how to use service design techniques and tools to design a digital service.
    - Student can use the existing graphical design theories and principles to design a digital service.
    - Student learns how to search and use existing technologies to develop a digital service.
    - Student learns how to use the latest methods and tools to evaluate and test a digital service.
    Starting level and linkage with other courses
    The student must have passed the course Orientation to Digital Services and Orientation to Software Engineering.

    It is also highly recommended to take the previous courses on the digital service path about UX and prototyping.
    Contents
    Topics to be covered in the course include the following:

    - Service Design tools and techniques
    - Graphical design principles
    - Exiting technologies and APIs to develop a digital service
    - Latest methods and tools for testing and evaluating the designs
    Assessment criteria
    Assessment criteria - grade 1
    Student knows partially the digital service development components.
    Assessment criteria - grade 3
    Student knows the basic service design principles and is familiar with development technologies. Student is capable independently search for existing components to design and develop a digital service. Additionally, the student is able to merge and utilize different technologies to develop a digital service. The student has competence on graphical design principles.
    Assessment criteria - grade 5
    Student can elaborate different technologies and service design principles applicability. Student can recommend the components and technologies based on the context of use of the digital service. Student can develop a high-quality digital service as designed. Student is capable of analyzing and recommending appropriate design principles based on the context of use of the digital service.

    Teaching methods and instruction

    This implementation consists of lectures, in-class activities, individual assignments and group exercises.

    During the course:
    -Student learns to utilize existing methods, tools, and technologies to design a digital service
    -Student learns how to use different desktop/online tools and cloud services in digital service development
    -Student learns the state-of-the-art technologies in digital service design
