    Further information
The Student Union Helga implements all the tutoring offered at Haaga-Helia. Helga recruits
all Head Tutors once a year, every October. Any Haaga-Helia student that has acted as a
former tutor and has a Helga membership can apply to be a Head Tutor. The application

Helga and the current Head Tutors interview all new Head Tutor applicants. The best
candidates are selected by Helga and the current Head Tutors as new Head Tutors. Every
new Head Tutor must go through Helga's training or complete them in another separately
agreed way before the beginning of the tutoring period. Training is organized after the
    interviews are done.

The tutoring study course lasts 1.5 academic years. Autumn is used for training and teaming
up with the tutor group, and spring and the following autumn for tutoring. Each Head Tutor
commits to their duties and for being an active Head Tutor for the entire duration.

At the end of the Head Tutoring period, each Head Tutor fills out a report that determines
how many credits are awarded for the activity. Head Tutoring is worth 5 credits. The Head
Tutor report is available on Helga's website:https://helga.fi/en/materials/
The reports are sent to Helga, who checks the report and finally forwards it to Haaga-Helia,
who transfers the credits to the student's register.
