Speed up your career course is delivered through mentoring. The mentoring process involves the student being assigned a personal mentor from an alumnus/alumna, i.e. a previous graduate of Haaga-Helia.
Starting level and linkage with other courses
The course should be chosen towards the end of the studies or when you are looking for a traineeship or job in your field. Those who have completed their studies the longest and answered the preliminary questionnaire will be selected for the course.
Implementation methods, demonstration and Work&Study
The course consists of three compulsory meetings (2 hours) at the campus and at least of four one-to-one meetings with a mentor (4 x 1,5 h). The format of the bilateral meetings (face-to-face/online) will be agreed between the student and the mentor. Meetings with the mentor should be at least once a month, but may be more if the mentor is willing.
Before the start of the course, the student accepted for the period will receive a questionnaire by email. The student can fill in preferences about the mentor's degree and in which field the mentor is currently working. The course organiser will then try to find the best possible mentor for the student.
The student and the mentor will meet each other at the first face-to-face meeting for the first time. Attendance is therefore essential. If the student is unable to attend the other subsequent on-site meetings, there will be written assignments to make up for the absence.
Assessment criteria, approved/failed
When the implementation type of the course is CONTACT, ONLINE or BLENDED it is required that the student is present during those teaching hours that are marked in the study schedule. If you are absent more than 25 %, your grade will be lowered by one. If you are absent more than 50 %, the course is failed.
The course is graded Pass or Fail.
An approved grade requires attendance at group meetings as well as four one-to-one mentoring meetings, returning of the mentoring agreement and the learning diary.

The learning materials are on Moodle.
