Intro
This course is for you if have arrived in Finland recently and have work experience in other countries, but you have little or no work experience in Finland. If you already have work experience in Finland, we recommend that you take the course Job seeking skills STU008HH1AE.
During this course you will learn about the job seeking process with specific requirements and tips to Finland, about Finnish workplace culture, and you will get additional support in creating your CV, cover letter and LinkedIn. This course is suitable for you at any point of your studies (the sooner the better!), if you are looking for your first work placements, or if you have years of work experience already, but you would like to know how to move forward in your career.
Materials
During this course you will learn through lectures and practical tasks about:
- About Finnish job seeking process
- How to create a winning application material: CV, cover letter and LinkedIn
- How to grow and use your network to find a job (with networking opportunity)
- What are your core strengths that you can use to brand yourself
- Finnish employee rights and work culture
- What you could do to turn your work-placement into employment
Assessment methods
The evaluation of the course is pass/fail.
Participation on the classes is mandatory, maximum 1 missed class is accepted.
The final evaluation is mostly based on the participation during classes.
