Intro

You are warmly welcome to learn professional communication in a workplace context. In this course we will get acquainted with trade fairs and practise working as a company representative at a stand. We will also learn to formulate the most essential business letters and PR messages. Make your Spanish-language your trump card in the labor market!

Teaching methods and instruction

The student who has completed this course or has acquired equal knowledge will be able to
• operate and communicate even more fluently in different oral and written situations in work life taking into account cultural characteristics
• utilize different sources of information in Spanish
• monitor current topics in society in Spanish language
• apply language flexibly also in new situations
• broaden and deepen their language skills also independently.

Students will engage with peers from diverse backgrounds, practice Spanish in global business and everyday contexts, and explore cultural differences across Spanish-speaking countries. Collaborative projects and digital communication exercises will further develop intercultural skills, preparing students for professional and social interactions in international environments."

Learning assignments

Oral presentations on daily life and professional topics
Written assignments: business letters, and short essays
Role-playing real-life scenarios (meetings, customer service, negotiations)
Listening comprehension exercises using authentic Spanish materials

Assessment methods

Assessment criteria - grade 1
When the implementation type of the course is CONTACT, ONLINE or BLENDED it is required that the student is present during those teaching hours that are marked in the study schedule. If you are absent more than 25 %, your grade will be lowered by one. If you are absent more than 50 %, the course is failed.

The student copes adequately with the usual communication situations in both general and professional language. The Spanish language is not yet progressing consistently. The language contains main structures, basic vocabulary and some professional vocabulary, but sometimes is difficult to understand and there is still a lot of room for improvement.

The language contains main structures, basic vocabulary and some professional vocabulary, but there is still room for improvement.

Assessment criteria - grade 5
The student copes very well with the usual communication situations in both general and professional language. The Spanish language is structurally clear and fluent. His/Her skills in the written and oral Spanish correspond very well to the learning outcomes of the course in the most important professional and everyday communication situations.
