Schedule
The implementation starts on 23.8.2023 and ends on 13.12.2023. Lectures will be held on Wednesdays at 11:00-13:45 at Pasila campus.
Implementation methods, demonstration and Work&Study
This course may be completed by either: Working while you are working in a company or a project from a company and work as team at the school.
Materials
Students will utilize the following processes and approaches:
-User-Centered Design (UCD) to come up with a proper concept
-Semi-functional prototyping with proven iterative design and development phases
-Evaluation of end-user/customer/stakeholder experience and value
-Marketing material to justify efficient productivity of the proposed concept
Students may freely select relevant reference literature/materials applicable to their project topic. Additional material will be provided by the course lecturer throughout the implementation.
Teaching methods and instruction
DIGITAL SERVICE PROJECT is a hands-on project course (10 ECTS). We have common status meetings once a week on Wednesdays, where students/student groups will present progress of their project work, discuss next steps, and have an opportunity to ask questions and receive guidance/feedback. In addition, student groups may organize separate coaching meetings with the course lecturer on a need basis.
Working life connections
Real life digital service development project will be conducted during the course.
Exam dates and re-exam possibilities
There is no exam in this implementation.
Internationality
Students are working in multi-cultural teams. International literature and other reference materials and cases will be used on the course.
Completion alternatives
This course may be completed by either:
a) Working as part of a project team at school (this implementation)
b) Working in a company or in a company project
Learning assignments
Real life digital service development project will be conducted during the course. Assignments are described in detail in the Course Moodle.
Assessment methods
Accepted course is assessed with grades from 1 to 5. See detailed acceptance criteria in the Course Moodle.
A self and peer assessment will be required for completion of the course.
