Schedule
This course workshops take place according to the schedule in Lukkarikone.
Details for each evenings' a will be provided in Moodle. Moodle will open by 15.12.23
Implementation methods, demonstration and Work&Study
Depending on the implementation, learning takes place in contact lessons, as independent studies, teamwork and/or online-studies. Implementations include coaching workshops, peer-coaching sessions and facilitation exercises. The course includes the assessment of one’s own learning
Recognition of prior learning (RPL)
If students have acquired the required competence in previous work tasks, recreational activities or on another course, they can show their competence via a demonstration. The demonstration must be agreed with the course teacher. More information and instructions for recognising and validating prior learning (RPL) are available at https://www.haaga-helia.fi/en/recognition-learning Look at "Instructions to students (master)"
Materials
Most of the materials will be available in Moodle but students are also encouraged to look for additional materials for their individual assignments and practise.
Teaching methods and instruction
This is a CONTACT implementation and remote participation is not possible. Participation to all workshops in Pasila is not mandatory (and can be compensated with extra-assignments) but highly encouraged.
Course learning approach is collaborative learning. Learning happens at "three levels":
a) In Pasila workshops on Saturdays on 20.1, 10.02 and 02.03 at 09-17
b) Individually
c) In coaching pairs
The course is very interactive by nature and the Saturday workshops are packed with activities. Participation to all workshops in Pasila is not mandatory but highly encouraged.
Working life connections
Course material and topics translate into working life situations, abilities and know-how.
Potentially also Guest Lecturer / Visit
Exam dates and re-exam possibilities
No Re-exam as the course evaluation is based on assignments and practise, not exam.
Internationality
Internationality is provided by course content, materials, assignment, case studies (and makeup of students in the class).
Completion alternatives
If students have acquired the required competence in previous work tasks, recreational activities or on another course, they can show their competence via a demonstration and thus progress faster through their studies. More information and instructions for recognizing and validating prior learning (RPL) are available at
https://www.haaga-helia.fi/en/recognition-learning.
Instructions for course specific RPL requirements will be shared in the course Kick
Learning assignments
Classroom activity = 30 %
Assignment A: Coaching = 40 %
Assignment B: Facilitation = 40 %
Note! As can be seen from the points break down above, the max points are 110 - and for grade 5 only 90 points are needed.
There will also be an extra-assignment to compensate for the possible lack of participation to contact classes
