Course starts in September 2021 and will end on 17.12.2021

Classes are scheduled to take place every Friday 08:30 -11:30

Materials

Student will use some PPT prepared by the teacher. In addition material from the International Chamber of commerce and books will be used.
A list of these books will be provided later.

Teaching methods and instruction

Creation of the awareness about the importance of international business environment how it affects businesses. Tools to analyze the business environment and to measure possible impact on a specific business. Acquisition of the ability to analyze global trends, which affect businesses’ possibilities to evolve. Identify events and trends on both macro and micro levels of economy. The ability to use and combine information about the business environment, for the sake of improved planning and business development. This course will be taught mostly online. Students will get some individual and team assignments.
Inquiry learning will be used.

Working life connections

Assignments are connected to import and export processes. Student will make country analysis and will plan either export or import of chosen product to/ or from a chosen destination.
They will search information as in real world.

Exam dates and re-exam possibilities

Participants will produce a final report and will make a final presentation. No separate written exam will be given

The class is international in nature. International participants from different countries.

Completion alternatives

Recognition of prior learning and experiences may be considered. Student may demonstrate own capabilities in international businesses.

Learning assignments

Assignments consist of both individual and team assignment
The main team assignment consists of making either an export or an import plan.
This assignment is divided into five interrelated parts which will be completed every two weeks.
At the end all the parts will be put in one consolidated final report.
Each team will prepare a powerful final presentation

Assessment methods

1. The student knows the importance and impacts of international business environment. S/he can name and define the key components of macro and micro-economic issues and trends. S/he can define external, global factors influencing a company’s decision-making processes.
3. The student is capable of analyzing the international business environment, stakeholders in the environment and the impacts of them for a case organization. S/he can connect the global and local trends into the business development needs of a given company. S/he is able suggest topics arising from the studies of the external environment to be considered in the planning of business operations.
5. The student has the ability to analyze international business environment and identify upcoming trends and even weak signals, which may be of importance for a given company. S/he can extract insights from relevant data and use the insights for the benefit of a company’s development needs. S/he can identify the opportunities and challenges in the environment, which need to be taken into consideration upon planning new operations, as well as suggest useful solutions to potential problems.
