Teaching methods and instruction

The course makes use of an investigative and development approach to learning, with emphasis on both independent study and team work and an analytical approach to learning.

Working life connections

Both the main team assignment and the weekly assignments deal with existing companies.

Internationality

Both the framework and the assignments deal with international business.

Completion alternatives

Similar course in Haaga-Helia or in other educational institutions of the same level.
Recognition of prior learning/work experience by writing an essay (minimum 5 pages, Word) based on separately defined topic.

Learning assignments

One individual and one main team assignment.

Assessment methods

The course is evaluated on scale 1 to 5 (where 5 is the best). The assessment criteria are presented below regarding three areas, such as knowledge, skills, and competencies.
Presenting and discussing the individual assignments 30 %.
Strategic analysis of a selected company/organization (teamwork; report and video presentation) 70 %.
All components need to be passed. There will be no extra assignments given to compensate absence.
