Implementation methods, demonstration and Work&Study

If the student has acquired the required competence in previous work tasks, recreational activities or on another course, s/he can contact the teacher in charge of the course to agree on how to show the competence. Information and instructions for recognising and validating prior learning are available on MyNet.

The students plan and produce a customer experience story as part of the operations of Creative Agency Krea (www.krea.fi) in the context of a client project. Visit to an advertising agency is included in the programme.

To pass the course, the student is required to complete a pre-course assignment and to produce a customer experience story as part of a multicultural student team. In addition, the student must participate in the contact sessions, the outdoor adventure day, the advertising agency visit, and the lectures given by an international team of professors.

The participants of the course include students and staff from Haaga-Helia partner universities abroad as well as Haaga-Helia exchange students and BBA students from all over the world.

Teaching methods and instruction

Krea Spring School is an annual international blended course that focuses on a digital storytelling project around a real-life sustainability challenge agreed together with selected industry partners. The course is based on international teamwork with student teams of 5-6 people.

An international team of teachers from Haaga-Helia and European partner universities will coach the student teams during their digital storytelling projects. A professional video coach from Video Marketing Agency Ikimedia will support students in their hands-on video editing tasks.

The topic of Krea Spring School 2026 will be Inspirational Scenario Storytelling. We will be combining our imagination and emotional intelligence with generative AI to create engaging and relatable scenarios of sustainable future and publish them as engaging video narratives on social media.

Please note that in 2026, our Krea Spring School in-person week has a Finnish bank holiday in the middle (Thursday 14 May). The course starts on Tuesday 12 May and finishes on Saturday 16 May, with Thursday 14 as a team recreation and filming day on the Suomenlinna Sea Fortress island.
