Implementation methods, demonstration and Work&Study

Intro
This course gives you a strong base for other law studies. The course provides an opportunity to learn about the basic legal environment in which companies operate. You study basics of contract law, familiarize yourself with administration of companies, learn about the main Finnish rules based on EU legislation safeguarding consumers as well as key points on employment relationships both in respect of employees or managerial positions.
This course corresponds to the Finnish key competence course Yritysjuridiikka.

This is a contact course and the lessons are held at Porvoo campus according to the Lukkari schedule.
Working life connections
The implementation contains case studies and examples relating to business and employment relationships.
Exam dates and re-exam possibilities
As there will be no final exam, there is not going to be any possibility of re-exam. The grades of the assignments are final.

RPL - recognizition of prior learning
Student can demonstrate the level of his/her prior learning. This has to be done in the beginning of the course. RPL will be assessed by the responsible teacher (Pia Vapaavuori) and the criteria for the assessment is how the student has been able to demonstrate that their skills and knowledge meet the learning goals and contents of the course.

Learning assignments
There are four (4) learning assignments which all are graded 0-5. The timetable and detailed instructions of the assignments will be available at the course Moodle. The assignements will cover the following subjects: contract law, consumer protection, labour law, and company law.
Assessment methods
All assignments are graded 0-5. At least three (3) assignments must be completed with grade 1 in order to pass the course. The assignment grades have the following weight when calculating the grade for the whole course:
-contract law 30%
-consumer protection 20%
-labour law 30%
-company law 20%
