Delivery Methods

Course material language is english. Course teaching language is english on finnish depending on implementation.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Recognition of Prior Learning will be evaluated on student basis. Content of RPL delivery will be designed together with the student, but typically RPL includes following components:
-Student provides the corresponding valid AWS/Azure Certification (AZ-900/CLF-C01, CLF-C02)
-Student prepares and delivers 30 minute lecture to class about topic agreed with teacher
-Student passes course exam

Learning Objectives for this course do not require memorizing as many technical details as cloud vendor syllabi might indicate. Learning Objectives are on more general level, but identifying what are key Cloud Services for a given purpose by AWS or Azure is a Learning Objective.

Borrowing and generalizing some learning objectives from AWS CLF-C02 Syllabus gives a good starting point to define top level learning objectives for this course:
-Understand that Cloud is Data Center business for AWS and Azure.
-Explain the value of the Public Cloud.
-Understand and explain Cloud Deployment Models.
-Understand and explain Cloud Service Models.
-Understand and explain the Shared Responsibility Model.
-Understand Public Cloud Security best practices.
-Understand Public Cloud costs, economics, and billing practices.

Teaching methods and instruction

Online lectures and online workshops. Self-study. Lectures will be recorded and can be viewed later. There is no mandatory attendance requirement, although attendance to lectures and workshops is considered as positive learning engagement.

Exam dates and re-exam possibilities

Exam system exam in Pasila or Porvoo. Student schedules their exam towards end of the course after completing required learning assignments. (Teacher monitored classroom exam or online exam options are considered case by case.) Re-exams in Exam system in Pasila or Porvoo.

Completion alternatives

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) can be considered, if student holds CLF-C02 or AZ-900 certification. RPL is typically hosting work life lecture for the class and passing course exam.

Learning assignments

Learning tasks, labs, study engagement and exam. Learning tasks are meant to be student specific, but other arrangements can be explored.
