Implementation methods, demonstration and Work&Study

Depending on the implementation, learning takes place in contact lessons, independent studies, teamwork and potentially online studies. The course includes the assessment of one’s own learning.

Recognition of prior learning (RPL)
If students have acquired the required competence in previous work tasks, recreational activities or another course, they can show their competence via a demonstration. The demonstration must be agreed upon with the course teacher. More information and instructions for recognising and validating prior learning (RPL) are available at https://www.haaga-helia.fi/en/recognition-learning. Look at "Instructions to students (master)" The student prepares a report and presentation about an ICT management best practice case to which s/he has made a substantial contribution.

Intro

After this course, students will have a good understanding of different frameworks and methods that are largely used in companies. The course will feature visiting speakers from other organisations who will share their methods and practices when developing and maintaining ICT systems. It is recommended that students have previous experience in ICT service management.

Materials

Material based on topical articles, books and lecture materials. Business Technology standard.

Teaching methods and instruction

The course comprises five or six classroom lectures and individual assignments (essays on given topics). Visiting professionals will share their insight and experience in ICT Service Management during the course.

RPL proving that a student has experience on the course topics and shows his/her know-how in a presentation to other students.

Assignments based on visiting speakers' presentations. NOTE!. Lectures will not be recorded, so attendance in lectures is required to reflect the lecture content.
