Implementation methods, demonstration and Work&Study

Implementations: Contact, Blended, Online, Virtual, and Demo.

If you already meet the learning objectives of this course, you can demonstrate your knowledge. You can do this by taking the DEMO implementation, which you need to sign up for through PEPPI.

For your demonstration, you need to prepare a recorded presentation. The video should include the key concepts of organizational culture. In the video, you will need to combine theory and practice. Detailed instructions can be found on Moodle for the DEMO implementation.

Intro

Without people there is no business. On this course, you will learn how organizational structures, culture and people management affect teams and employees in multicultural, international organizations. You will discover elements and practices of organizing, managing and leading a diverse workforce with an ethical, inclusive and sustainable mindset. This course will enable you to learn what constitutes responsible culture and people management in a multicultural environment.

Teaching methods and instruction

This is a CONTACT course and the lectures are held at the Pasila campus. You are expected to attend lectures regularly. Participation in the lectures will affect your grade. Therefore, for those unable to attend lectures, a virtual implementation is available. Additionally, if you have existing knowledge in this area, you may showcase your skills through a demonstration of competence (RPL), see below.

In this course we will also use Problem Based Learning (PBL) approach.

In this course, you will explore case studies and real-life examples that connect what you learn with actual work situations. This will help you use your new knowledge and skills to improve your work in organizations.

This course can also be completed by demonstrating your competence. Before attempting the demonstration, please review the study guide. It's important to thoroughly understand the learning objectives and assessment criteria before you decide to do the demonstration.

Learning assignments

The course includes both individual and group assignments, each contributing a specific weight to the overall course grade.

1. Individual assignment, 30%, mandatory
2. Team assignment, 30%, mandatory
3. Exam, 10%, mandatory
4. Moodle online discussions 30%, optional for grades 4-5

To pass this course, you are required to achieve a minimum grade of 1 on assignments 1, 2 and 3.

Assessment methods

The course grade is influenced by the learning assignments, which are evaluated using an assessment rubric. The assessment rubrics and the weighting of assignments are available on the course Moodle.
