If you already meet the learning objectives of this course, you can demonstrate your knowledge. You can do this by taking the DEMO implementation, which you need to sign up for through PEPPI.

For your demonstration, you must create a video showing how the basics of teamwork and project management can be applied in practice. The video should include the key concepts and project management methods. In the video, you will need to combine theory and practice. Detailed instructions can be found on Moodle for the DEMO implementation.

Intro

Working in a team and managing a project are basic skills in today’s work and study environment. In a well-functioning team 1+1 becomes more than two and diversity is perceived as a strength. In this course, you will learn to participate effectively and responsibly in multi-cultural teams and projects. You will acquire skills for handling challenging situations in teams and you will be able to execute projects related to work or studies. In this course, among other objectives, you will learn how to set objectives for a project, how to write a project plan and how to develop teamwork. You learn more about yourself by analyzing team working methods and team role tests. A human being learns in interaction with others, so this course will benefit you throughout your life.

Teaching methods and instruction

This course is a part of all Haaga-Helia's degrees and the student can participate in any implementation. This implementation is specifically aimed at students of International Business degree.

This is a CONTACT course taught at the Pasila Campus. You are expected to actively participate in the lectures. The learning assignments in the course are both individual and team assignments. The course combines theory and practice. If you have gained competence/skills matching the learning objectives of this course you can show your skills and competences through demonstration. Working life connections

In this course, you will address the challenges of teamwork and project management through both work-life cases and managing your own studies. The case studies involve real-life workplace challenges. You will also have the opportunity to work with your team on a project plan for a company of your choice.

Learning assignments

The course involves learning assignments, which include both individual and team assignments. The evaluated assignments will assess your knowledge of the course topics. Each assignment carries a different weight that will impact your course grade.

4. Class-room activities: Participation and collaborative learning

To pass the course, you must earn a minimum grade of 1 on Assignments 1, 2, and 3.

Assessment methods

The course grade is influenced by the learning assignments, which are evaluated using an assessment rubric. Course lectures will include assignments that will affect your grade. The assessment rubric and the weighting of assignments are available on the course Moodle.
