Implementation methods, demonstration and Work&Study

As an alternative, the student can choose the course SCM1LF101 'Basics of Supply Chain Management' 5cr from the Degree Programme in International Business.

RPL: If the student has acquired the required competence in previous work tasks, recreational activities or on another course, she/he can show the competence with a demonstration and progress faster through the studies.

Lecture materials, articles, cases, video clips etc. material provided in Moodle or hand-outs given by the lecturer.

Contact lessons, an examination and 2 individual learning assignments.

Working life connections

The module uses real-life cases, simulations game and company visitors to lessons.

Exam dates and re-exam possibilities

Examination is held on Tue 12.3. 9.15-11.15 as so-called "home examination" in which all materials are allowed. Maximum time allowed for examination is 2 hours.
Re-examination is offered in Haaga-Helia’s electronic re-examination Exam (see MyNet for further details) during April 2019. The exact dates, when re-examination will be available, will be provided by the teacher during the course. Rules and regulations concerning re-examinations according Haaga-Helia’s code of conduct are applied.

Internationality

The course is taught in English, can be attended by international students and all assignments are related to the internationalization efforts of a company. The course is international by definition.

Learning assignments

Two compulsory learning assignments:
Assignment 1: “SCM magazine article or presentation”
Assignment 2: “SCM process of toy manufacturer Lego portrayed as process”
Both the assignments have 25 % weight on students’ course grade.

Assessment methods

Examination and both the individual assignments are graded in 0-5 (with halves and quarters included). Examination has 50 % weight and each learning assignment a 25 % weight. A weighted average is calculated and that determines one's final course grade.
