Intro

Do you want to activate your Finnish skills and start using the language? This course is meant for you. You get to practice speaking in a safe environment and do lots of different exercises and projects together with the other students and on your own.

Teaching methods and instruction

Contact hours (3 h/week, during which 80% attendance is required): pair and team assignments, team discussions, oral presentations
Independent studies: homework and preparation for lessons, discussions, presentations and exercises.

Exam dates and re-exam possibilities

There are no exams. The final grade is based on different assignments which are done during the course.

Assessment methods

Continuous assessment 40 %
Regular and active participation is crucial to your progress. Coming in time, being prepared, doing activities, answering questions and speaking Finnish as much as possible are all part of the continuous demonstration of your language skills.
Supervised assignments 60 %

NB! When the implementation type of the course is contact, online or blended it is required that the student is present during those teaching hours that are marked in the study schedule. If you are absent more than 25%, your grade will be lowered by one. If you are absent more than 50%, the course is failed.
