Intro

Hei ja tervetuloa! Welcome to continue your journey to Finnish language and culture! Now it is time to learn about traveling, health and hobbies and tell about the past. By actively participating in classes and studying at home you will create a solid basis for further Finnish studies.

Teaching methods and instruction

The course includes both 1) contact hours and 2) independent studies:
1) Oral and written exercises individually and in pairs, group work, tests
2) Homework and preparation for lessons, exams and assignments.

Active self-study between the lessons is expected and part of the course.

Emphasis will be given to all four language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing.
The class will provide students the opportunity to practice new vocabulary and grammatical structures through in-class discussion of assigned activities and readings.

Contact hours: oral and written exercises individually and in pairs, group work, learning games.
Independent studies: homework and preparation for lessons, exams and assignments, online material.
This course develops student’s ability to understand and use Finnish language further and activates the language skills learned earlier. The students are encouraged and able to use Finnish in everyday situations.

Working life connections
