Schedule

There are weekly assignments. The due dates are to be adhered to.

The teachers ask to realistically assess the number of 5-credit courses one can undertake and complete in a single study period.
The failure to submit critical assignments will result in a zero grade.
Should a student decide to drop out from the course, their participation is marked with a zero grade.

Implementation methods, demonstration and Work&Study

The learning methods of this course are the following:

a. contact lessons
b. independent studies
c. virtual/blended learning
d. recognition or prior learning (RPL)

Materials

Online material on Moodle, information sources and database available to Haaga-Helia's students (critical evaluation is key), and self-study materials recommended by teacher/s.

Teaching methods and instruction

A blended course including synchronous (!!!) online presentations, teacher-guided activities and self-paced learning.

Weekly written and videotaped guidelines on Moodle, individual and/or pair assignments, peer evaluation, as well as reflection.

Working life connections

The LinkedIn assignment helps to showcase qualifications and strengths and enhance profile visibility to attract potential employers. There is a video CV option for those who do not wish to use LinkedIn.
The sales presentation offers an insight into how to compose and deliver a compelling sales pitch.

Exam dates and re-exam possibilities

The course has no exams. There are no retakes for the individual learning assignments. Should a student decide to drop out, their participation is marked with a zero grade.

Internationality

The focus is on English as the language of international communication, business, trade and technological development.
The course curriculum has benefitted from collaboration of multiple teachers with their different cultural contexts, work experience and academic backgrounds.

We offer multicultural teamwork opportunities for students.

Completion alternatives

Part A:
Self-evaluation of own proficiency;
LinkedIn Profile /Alternatively, a video CV+written CV
Pair work: sales presentation in pairs on Zoom (there will be 2 dates announced at the start of the course, please, find a pair via the pre-assignment forum and agree on one of these dates)
The dates are Wed 10.11 (16:00-18:00 edited 1.11.) and Fri 12.11 (9:00-11:00).
