Implementation methods, demonstration and Work&Study

This course learning outcomes can be achieved in the following ways:

a. Lectures and independent work.

b. E-learning and independent work.

c. Workplace-based learning (suom. AHOT).

The course also includes a mandatory assessment of their own learning.

Materials

Course materials are available in Moodle. There is no course book in use.

Teaching methods and instruction

The course consists of:
- Lectures and in-class exercises
- Individual assignments
- Group assignments

Topics to be covered in the course include the following:
- Iterative design
- User Interface visuals
- Tools for prototyping
- Implementation of prototypes

Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to apply brainstorming techniques, design a digital service visual user interface, and take advantage of tools for prototyping.

Working life connections

Worklife cases and examples will be used as learning materials.

Exam dates and re-exam possibilities

There is no exam in this implementation.

Internationality

The course is targeted for international students, which provides participants possibilities for intercultural collaboration.

International learning materials and cases are used as part of the course references.

Completion alternatives

This course learning outcomes can be achieved in the following ways:

a. Lectures and independent work.

b. Workplace-based learning (suom. AHOT).

The course also includes a mandatory assessment of student's own learning.

Learning assignments

- Individual assignments (30% of the grade)
- Group assignments (50% of the grade)
- In-class exercises (20% of the grade)

Assessment methods

Grade 5: Student is able to plan appropriate visual images of digital services, as well as to implement high-quality prototypes effectively utilizing tools for prototyping.

Grade 3: Student is able to design a visual identity of a digital service, as well as to implement a prototype utilizing tools for prototyping.

Grade 1: Student understands the importance of a visual image for digital services, as well as the importance of building prototypes of tools. Student is able to implement a simple prototype.

The course also includes a mandatory self and peer assessment.

The grade (100%) is consisting of three (3) elements as follows:
- Participation and in-class activities - 20%
- Individual assignments - 30%
- Group assignments - 50%

All course assignments need to be completed in order to pass the course.
