Intro

3D Scanning is a set of methods used to capture physical objects into digital objects. Unlike the physical world, when objects consist of wood or metal or ceramic etc., digital objects consist of meshes, which are lattices of vertices. Vertices are points in space. Meshes can be assigned textures to make the scanned object completely like its real world counterpart.

Haaga-Helia already has coursed in 3D Modeling and 3D Printing, and this course will complete the trilogy of 3D methodologies. While you do not need to have completed the other two coursed, they may help you understand the 3D Scanning process and its outcomes better.
