Contact session during the Spring intensive week # 12 (Mon-Fri 9:00-16:00)

There will be a kick-off session (the date and time will be informed later) online before the intensive week. The will be time to finalize the assignments after the intensive week. There will be the presentations of the final assignment and a closing session by the end of April. The exact date and time will be agreed during the intensive week.

Intro

Come and immerse yourself in the world of graphic design! In this course, you will develop an understanding of the potential of visual communication and how to achieve it through the art of graphic design. You will learn to follow and utilise the design process, from clearly defining clients’ requirements to developing original and creative design solutions. Through a combination of active class-participation and self-directed learning, you will acquire the skills to produce graphic design solutions using the relevant Adobe programmes.

Teaching methods and instruction

The student is able to apply the fundamentals of design and visual communication theory to the process of solving communication challenges.
The student can demonstrate original, creative and relevant thinking, and apply it to visual communication solutions.
The student can successfully produce visual communication solutions using the appropriate Adobe design programmes.
The student is able to continue to develop their skills and knowledge through self-directed learning.
This course is a part of all Haaga-Helia's degrees and the student can participate in any implementation. This implementation is specifically aimed at students of the DIGIBBA International Business degree.

Assessment methods

Passing the course requires commitment to the assignment work and contact sessions. The grade is based on the design material produced (70%) and on the student’s own commitment and attitude, as well as in-class participation (30%).
