Implementation methods, demonstration and Work&Study

Lectures, interactive class discussions, exercises, project work, self-directed learning, presentations and field research. In the integrated assignment, student groups will make a business plan that would be suitable for the business environment, markets and business operations. It is highly recommended that the student actively uses the knowledge gained from different courses in the assignments.

Learning assignments

Students will perform a number of assignments for the module.

Assignment 1a and 1b Business News
The students (3-4 per team) develop a habit of following business news in aviation industry. The relevant sources for such news will be suggested in class (Airline Business, Bloomberg, The Economist, etc.) The students select the news and present it in class, with terminology list and analysis of the reported business developments. The presentation takes place as a gallery walk, where student team present their posters (infographics). The gallery news also includes peer assessment.

Assignment 2 Annual Reports
The students (3-4) per team study an annual report of an organisation in the aviation industry. The students make a summary presentation of the organisation’s state of financial health, present a terminology list, and the information that the investors should particularly pay attention to.

Assignment 3
The students present the results of their project work to the Commissioner

The nature, scope, and sequence of the assignments proposed above could allow for variation, if necessary. More instructions will be given during the module.
