The assignments and the schedule will be announced during the first lecture.

Implementation methods, demonstration and Work&Study

The contents is divided into eight topic areas. In addition to the lectures there will be also other material like studies, articles or videos. The assessment is done via an essay and an exam.

When the implementation type of the course is contact, online or blended it is required that the student is present during those teaching hours that are marked in the study schedule. If you are absent more than 25%, your grade will be lowered by one. If you are absent more than 50%, the course is failed.

Intro

Sustainable aviation business environment consists of many different kinds of stakeholders like the airlines, airports, ground handling companies, air traffic control service providers, etc. They are all depending on each other but they are also have their own businesses and business models. Learning how the aviation stakeholders are working with each other and how they are making business is the key to understanding the whole aviation industry.

Relevant media, news agencies, quality press, etc.

Teaching methods and instruction

The module consists of the introduction to the sustainability themes, and analysis of the operational environment and the stakeholders within the aviation industry. Basics of macro and microeconomics, ecosystem and megatrends are discussed.

Grade 1/5

The student is aware about the roles of main stakeholders in global aviation environment. The student can analyse major macroeconomic trends in global aviation and show knowledge of history of aviation industry across the globe. The student can discuss the legal environment and the technological progress of the industry. The student can take part in debating relevant aviation topics and can relate to the current situation in aviation. The student is able to use aviation terminology correctly. The student takes part in the course’s projects contributes to their success.

Grade 3/5

The student is knowledgeable of the roles of main stakeholders in global aviation environment. The student is able to competently analyse major macroeconomic trends in global aviation and show reliable knowledge of history of aviation industry across the globe. The student can take part competently in a discussion about the legal environment and the technological progress of the industry. The student can take an active part in debating relevant aviation topics and can competently analyse the current situation in aviation. The student is able to use a wide range of aviation terminology correctly. The student takes an active part in the course’s projects and contributes actively to their success.

Grade 5/5

The student is an expert and knows well the main stakeholders in global aviation environment. The student is able to analyse professionally well major macroeconomic trends in global aviation and shows advanced knowledge of history of aviation industry across the globe. The student can lead the discussions about the legal environment and the technological progress of the industry. The student can debate as an expert on relevant aviation topics and can analyse professionally well the current situation in aviation. The student has mastered a wide range of aviation terminology correctly. The student shows leadership skills in the course’s projects and contributes significantly to their success.
