Recognition of Learning

If you have prior research and development competences, the course can be completed as a demonstration. For more information please see Haaga-Helia web page, https://www.haaga-helia.fi/en/recognition-learning

To demonstrate your prior learning, please, enroll to a DEMO implementation of this course. Detailed instructions about the demonstration are available in the Moodle site of the DEMO implementation.

Intro

Development belongs to each and every one in the organizations. During this course you will learn the basics of research and development methods. You will also learn about scientific research methods and tools for ideation, innovation and development. The primary aim is not to turn you in to professional researcher - but you will learn how to create surveys, recognize different types of interviews and how to analyze the data you have gathered. After completing this course, you will be able to apply your new skills in working life situations as well as start your thesis in Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences.

Materials

Comprehensive knowledge of HH bachelor's thesis process, policies and principles. Can be found at https://www.haaga-helia.fi/en/amk/thesis-bachelors-degree.

As this demonstration includes student's knowledge, understanding and experience of the key features of qualitative and quantitative research and the ethical principles of research, it is primarily recommended for such students, whom have a prior experience of research process for example through having completed a bachelor's or a master's thesis in another field than business studies.

No "preparation study packages" are offered for such demonstration examinations - the idea and the concept of demonstration is to present and recognize prior learning and skill obtained.

Teaching methods and instruction

This is a demonstration or DEMO-implementation for students who already have the knowledge and skills taught on the course. The course does not have tuition or classes.

This course implementation is demonstration for course "Research and Development Skills" (Haaga-Helia course code ANA001HH1AE)

Exam dates and re-exam possibilities

Demonstration is offered as an electronic examination at HH's EXAM system. Once student decided to enroll at Peppi, he/she will receive access to Moodle in which at the demonstration examination details are described.

Completion alternatives

Demonstration implementation. The course does not have tuition or classes.

Assessment methods

Your demonstration assessment and Peppi grade for your "Research and Development Skills" demonstration electronic examination will be executed according to the following Haaga-Helia grading structure in relation to your demonstration performance:

90-100 % performance = grade 5

80-89 % performance = grade 4

70-79 % performance = grade 3

60-69 % performance = grade 2

50-59 % performance = grade 1

Less than 50 % performance is failed and grade 0 added into Peppi. In this case, student needs to enroll to standard course implementation.

Please kindly notice that you are only allowed to take demonstration examination once.
