Organising of organisations 11.4. – 29.4. = 3 weeks

Implementation methods, demonstration and Work&Study

Depending on the implementation, learning takes place in contact lessons, as independent studies, teamwork and/or online-studies. The course includes the assessment of one’s own learning.

Recognition of prior learning (RPL)
If students have acquired the required competence in previous work tasks, recreational activities or on another course, they can show their competence via a demonstration. The demonstration must be agreed with the course teacher. Intro

This course is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of work. You will learn various approaches to organisational development and how to apply them ethically. You will also explore new ways of organising and learn to drive positive change in your workplace

Teaching methods and instruction

This course has three major themes:
1. The future of work
2. Organising of organisations
3. Organisational development

The course is based on student's independent study, using materials indicated and/or available in Moodle.
The learning methods are classic: reading, watching & listening videos, observing current organisational contexts and/or reflecting on organisational experiences and work practices, thinking - and completing assignments.

Working life connections

Assignments reflect on organising and work practices in different types of organisations.

Internationality

Examples and material provide opportunities for reflecting of organising in global contexts.

Completion alternatives

Student can apply for recognition of prior learning following the general Haaga-Helia instructions.

Learning assignments

Three assingments
1. Mindmapping the/my future of work (30 points)
2. Multiple choice test of organisational theories and practices (30 points)
3. Writing two-part essay on organisational development (40 points)

Assessment methods

Assignments assessed using the course evaluation criteria.
91-100 points = grade 5
81 -90 points = grade 4
71-80 points = grade 3
61-70 points = grade 3
51-60 points = grade 1.
50 points or less = failed.
