Intro
Have you got the opportunity to study in Finland? Have you recently arrived in Finland or are you still waiting for your adventure to begin?
In this course you will learn some useful facts about our country in a fun way, get glimpses of the Finnish culture and the two official languages spoken in Finland: Finnish and Swedish.
This course does not require any skill on Finnish or Swedish.

The materials are on Moodle.
Teaching methods and instruction
The course form is a fully independent online course that begins 15 April 2024 and ends 17 May 2024. The Moodle learning environment is built around 15 different sections (tram stops) containing information and tasks about Finnish culture and manners, the Finnish language and the Swedish language.
Exam dates and re-exam possibilities
There are no exams.
Internationality
The course is offered to international degree students.
Learning assignments
Each topic has H5P tasks about the content of the learning material. There are also discussion forums where students share their observations and views of the topic in question. In the final task students apply the content of the course to a presentation of their home countries.
Assessment methods
The final grading is on a scale: pass/fail.
In order to receive a passing grade the student should
1) get 70 % of points of the H5P tasks
2) participate in all of the discussion tasks
3) do the final task
4) fill in the mandatory course feedback form.
