Intro
Hei ja tervetuloa! Welcome to a journey to Finnish language and culture! You will learn to pronounce Finnish and communicate in some simple everyday situations. By actively participating in classes and studying at home, you will create a solid basis for further Finnish studies.
Materials
The test is based on the content of the study book: Sonja Gehring & Sanni Heinzmann: Uudistettu Suomen mestari 1, Finn Lectura, CHAPTERS 1 - 5 (the new edition 2020)
Teaching methods and instruction
This is a demonstration or DEMO-implementation for students who already have the knowledge and skills taught on the course. The course does not have tuition, teaching or classes.
The demontrations are supervised and they take place in a classroom. They are offered twice a semester: during the first study week of the semester and in the middle of the semester. Ask your Finnish teacher or your academic advisor about the exact times and places. You do not need to enroll in advance.
The test consists of a written part on Moodle and a short face-to-face interview with a Finnish teacher. The written part covers vocabulary and grammar of the course material mentioned belowe. At the interview, you should show that you are able to speak and understand Finnish at a level that corresponds to the course in question.
Notice that your demonstration test result will be final and you cannot improve the grade afterwards!
