    Learning objectives
    The student will understand the direction where the aviation industry is heading to. The student will be able to analyze the meaning of various megatrends in the aviation industry and the contents of each subtopic relating to the area. The student will be able to present the key aspects and the relevant action points to the future of aviation.

    This implementation will be replacing the "Aviation Business Environment 2" implementation

    The student has to have completed the "Aviation Business Environment 1" implementation.
    Contents
    Future of Aviation will take a look at the trends and foreseen and potential developments in the aviation industry looking at the environment from the strategic, operational, economic, legal and the digital point of view.

    The implementation will concentrate on:

    The market estimates, megatrends and analysis for the future
    Sustainable flying
    Sustainable aviation ecosystem
    Digitalization and data
    Cybersecurity in aviation
    Drones and the other air transportation modes
    Airspace usage
    Customer behavior and experience in the future of aviation
    Assessment criteria
    Assessment criteria - grade 1
    The student is aware about the topics of the implementation. The student is able to analyse and talk about the presented topics.
    Assessment criteria - grade 3
    The student is knowledgeable of the topics of the implementation. The student is able to competently analyse and talk about the presented topics. The student shows holistic understanding about the future of aviation.
    Assessment criteria - grade 5
    The student is an expert and knows well the topics of the implementation. The student is able to analyse and talk professionally about the presented topics. The student shows deep and largely holistic viewpoint about the future of aviation.

    Teaching methods and instruction

    Future of Aviation will take a look at the trends and foreseen and potential developments in the aviation industry looking at the environment from the strategic, operational, economic, legal and the digital point of view.

    This will replace the "Aviation Business Environment 2" implementation. The learnings from the "Aviation Business Environment 1" form the basis of the former knowledge needed during this course.

    The implementation will concentrate on:

    The market estimates, megatrends and analysis for the future
    Sustainable flying
    Sustainable aviation ecosystem
    Digitalization and data
    Cybersecurity in aviation
    Drones and the other air transportation modes
    Airspace usage
    Customer behavior and experience in the future of aviation.

    This will be an asynchronous implementation. The class material and the assignments are in Moodle. The completed assignments can be returned to Moodle during the time span of the course whenever it suits best for the student. More complete instructions to the course are in the course main page in Moodle when the course opens.

    Ther are two assignments: 1. Exam. The exam takes place in Moodle and the questions are about the topics of the sessions at the implementation. 2. Essay. The essay is about writing a vision or understanding about the future of aviation. The student has to show knowledge and understanding about the topics of the sessions.

    The total assessment consists of the completed assignments. Both assignments form half of the total grade:

    2. Essay 50%
