    Learning objectives
    Upon successful completion of the course or possessing equivalent know-how the student
    - is familiar with the basic accounting concepts and is able to identify common accounting processes - from a IT professional perspective
    - understands the importance of accounting and accounting
    processes in the business environment.
    - gets a solid understanding of the business process integration to accounting in integrated systems and has a basic knowledge of ERP systems accounting functionality,
    - knows how to customize the accounting processes in Microsoft ERP system family. (Haaga-Helia current version implemented)
    - gains some knowledge of SAP ERP accounting
    functionality (FI)/(CO) and is familiar with the business integration to the FI module.

    This course is part of Business and ICT specialization area in Degree Programme in Business Information Technology.

    Teaching methods and instruction

    This is an introductory course to Financial Accounting.

    We will be looking at Accounting from the role of a non-professional Accountant. Covering the basic concepts and main processes. The aim is to give insights on system understanding and process integration.

    This implementation is an ONLINE BLENDED but originally built up as a Nonstop E-learning course. Means it IS NOT mandatory to participate in ONLINE sessions

    ONLY students that do the Start-up Module in accordance with defined deadline will continue be accepted to do the course - if not removed!
