Entrepreneurship and Business Operations - Opinto-opas

After having completed this course or attained an equivalent competence level, the student can:

o act entrepreneurially,
o understand the key concepts of entrepreneurship and business,
o describe the ways of becoming an entrepreneur, the opportunities, forms of entrepreneurship, and types of companies,
o assess entrepreneurship and networks from an individual's perspective,
o utilize the knowledge base and the BMC model when describing and evaluating a business, considering responsibility.

In the CONTACT, ONLINE, and BLENDED implementations of the course, attendance is required during the scheduled teaching sessions. If you are absent for more than 25% of the sessions, your grade will be lowered by one grade point. If your absences exceed 50%, you will fail the course.

Assessment Criteria - Grade 1
Able to
o take responsibility for their tasks
o use key concepts of entrepreneurship, business, and sustainability

Assessment Criteria - Grade 3
In addition to the previous, able to
o assess their own opportunities to act as an entrepreneur
o evaluate business opportunities and the process of becoming an entrepreneur
o identify and describe their own networks
o understand the knowledge base of entrepreneurship and business and its connections to sustainability

Assessment Criteria - Grade 5
In addition to the previous, able to
o analyze the challenges and opportunities of entrepreneurship
o analyze business opportunities and models

When the implementation type of the course is contact, online or blended it is required that the student is present during those teaching hours that are marked in the study schedule. If you are absent more than 25 %, your grade will be lowered by one. If you are absent more than 50 %, the course is failed.

This is a DEMO implementation for students who already possess the skills and knowledge required by the course. No teaching is included.

Assignments are linked to companies selected by students and reflect real-world business operations.

Pasila Campus

The demonstration includes an exam in Moodle that the student can take at a time of their choosing. The exam cannot be retaken.

English

International aspects are considered as part of analyzing the selected company’s business operations.

01.08.2025 - 31.12.2025

Moodle exam on the key concepts and knowledge of the course. Report that includes the use of essential tools from the course, as well as an analysis and reflection on one's own entrepreneurial skills and the business operations of a selected company.

01.08.2025 - 28.11.2025

Both tasks related to the demonstration must be completed by the end date of the course implementation.
