    Learning objectives
    Upon completion of this module, you will be able to
    - manage projects and networks in the operational environment of travel and tourism
    - recognise the importance of communication, networking and value creation with the stakeholders in the tourism industry
    - recognise the most important organisations, networks and business ecosystems in travel and tourism
    - anticipate and assess the risks and challenges associated with project management and networks
    - become a change-maker and detect the possibilities for agile experiments in project and network management.

    1. The essential oganisations, networks and development projects for sustainable tourism
    2. Project and network management in the operational environment of travel and tourism, including theory and tools
    3. Communication, networking and value creation with stakeholders in sustainable tourism projects and ecosystems
    4. Risk management in projects
    Assessment criteria
    Assessment criteria - grade 1
    When the implementation type of the course is CONTACT, ONLINE or BLENDED it is required that the student is present during those teaching hours that are marked in the study schedule. If you are absent more than 25 %, your grade will be lowered by one. If you are absent more than 50 %, the course is failed.

    Is able to identify the most important organisations and networks in travel and tourism. Has some understanding of the importance of project and network management for developing sustainable tourism. Is aware of the basics of project and network management.
    Assessment criteria - grade 3
    Is able to use and connect with the relevant organisations and networks for developing sustainable tourism. Is able to apply appropriate communication and networking skills in project and network management to achieve results. Is able to manage projects for sustainable tourism.
    Assessment criteria - grade 5
    Is able to analyse the operations of different tourism organisations and networks to develop new possibilities for sustainable tourism business. Is able to assess the risks when planning successful projects in a network environment. Is able to come up with positive outcomes and sustainable solutions when managing projects in the tourism business ecosystem in a changing operational environment.

    Teaching methods and instruction

    Contact teaching, independent study, learning and group assignments. The teaching uses participatory and applied learning methods and guidance for independent work.
    Project to the commissioner. Inquiry learning.

    Learning material and recommended literature

    Journals and magazines, studies by international organisations (e.g., UNWTO, WTTC, IATA) and other electronic sources.
    Will be distributed in the beginning of the studies.

    Working life connections

    The course is implemented as a joint project with the commissioner. Guest lectures and visits.
