    Learning objectives
    After having completed this course, the student is able to:
    • Understand the core principles of futures studies and foresight
    • Apply foresight methods, to create futures images and prepare for them.
    • Evaluate competencies and organizational capabilities in light of future trends, megatrends and uncertainties.
    • Analyze personal leadership development in the context of future-oriented thinking and practices.
    Starting level and linkage with other courses
    This course unit is part of the master's degree's curriculum. Completion of the course requires master's study entitlement.

    Introduction to Futures Thinking, Futures Studies and Foresight
    • Overview of futures studies: definition, scope, and methods.
    • Key concepts in foresight
    • Futures thinking in the context of leadership and organizational change.
    • Introduction to strategic foresight tools.

    Exploring Methods and Building Future Competences
    • Practical application of foresight methods
    • Group work: Developing visions of possible, probable and preferable futures
    • Competences in the face of future uncertainties.
    • Identifying skills and leadership qualities needed for future challenges.
    • Fostering future-proof organizations

    Futures Thinking in Self-Leadership and Personal Reflection
    • The role of self-leadership in navigating change and uncertainty.
    • Group work presentations: Using foresight methods to address organizational and leadership challenges.
    • Individual reflection: Personal growth through futures thinking
    Assessment criteria
    Assessment criteria - grade 1
    When the implementation type of the course is CONTACT, ONLINE or BLENDED it is required that the student is present during those teaching hours that are marked in the study schedule. If you are absent more than 25 %, your grade will be lowered by one. If you are absent more than 50 %, the course is failed.
