A solid grasp of elementary Russian grammar and day-to-day business-related vocabulary and culture-related concepts. Students are prepared for the business communication level Russian courses in the SEBBA Degree Programme.

Listening comprehension test is at the end of Period 4.
It is allowed to use paper-based dictionaries at the exam, no web-based dictionaries. The use of Google Translate is strictly forbidden.

Completion alternatives
Participating written and oral exams and completing all independent tasks. Demonstration of prior learning (RPL) is possible at the beginning of the course.
Learning assignments
The student will be able to:
• read and write more fluently in Russian
• use elementary and pre-intermediate level vocabulary related to working life and business
• learn the key grammatical structures
• understand simple oral and written messages and instructions
• write short messages
• to cope with new everyday and working life interactive situations in Russian
The course also includes a compulsory assessment of one's own learning.
Assessment methods
Evaluation is based on a written test (50%) and the demonstration of spoken skills at the end of the semester (50%).
Attendance is likely to have influence on the language command, and thus, on the grade. The course is graded on a scale of 0-5. See the assessment criteria below.
The self-assessment of learning assignment does not impact the grade. The assignment is the same for all courses/modules
and the answers will be used also for course/module development. The assignment is completed online via the provided common feedback form.
