    Learning objectives
    After having completed this course or attained an equivalent competence level, the student
    -recognizes the main legal concepts and framework regulating businesses in EU;
    -is able to describe how companies generally are administered and how assets are distributed;
    -knows the basic contractual principles relevant to conclusion and validity of contracts and is able to assess the main effects of contractual liability;
    -knows consumer protection rules safeguarding the basic rights of consumers and
    -knows the core rules regulating employment relationships.

    Assessment criteria - grade 1
    When the implementation type of the course is CONTACT, ONLINE or BLENDED it is required that the student is present during those teaching hours that are marked in the study schedule. If you are absent more than 25 %, your grade will be lowered by one. If you are absent more than 50 %, the course is failed.

    The student recognizes core legal issues regulating business activities and related essential legal sources.
    Assessment criteria - grade 3
    The student recognizes core legal issues regulating business activities, finds appropriate legal sources and is able to apply them to basic practical situations.
    Assessment criteria - grade 5
    The student recognizes core legal issues regulating business activities, is able to find a broad variety of legal sources and apply them to customary practical situations. The student understands the significant effect of regulations on business activities.

    Student can demonstrate the level of their prior learning. This must be completed in the beginning of the course. Contact the responsible teacher Pia Vapaavuori for more information. The assessment is based on the demonstration by the student of their competence to meet the learning criteria and their knowledge on course content. Courses can also be completed through work-based learning.
