  Assessment criteria

  Assessment criteria - grade 1

  The student knows the relevance of coaching-based cooperation, the counselling approach and interaction in organisational development. The student recognises his/her strengths and development areas as a coach and as a facilitator.

  Assessment criteria - grade 3

  In addition to the competencies in grade 1, the student can develop his/her skills as a coach and a facilitator, deepen and apply dialogic interaction competences and is able to put himself/herself in the position of the coach and the person being coached. The student experiments, tests and chooses facilitation techniques that aim to promote communal learning within the workplace.

  Assessment criteria - grade 5

  In addition to competences in grades 1 and 3, the student develops his/her skills as a coach and a facilitator according to self-set goals and applies his/her dialogic interaction and group coaching competences. S/he is able to reflect deeply on his/her actions as a coach and as a person being coached. The student can choose and justify the facilitation techniques that aim to promote communal learning in the work place.

  When the implementation type of the course is contact, online or blended it is required that the student is present during those teaching hours that are marked in the study schedule. If you are absent more than 25%, your grade will be lowered by one. If you are absent more than 50%, the course is failed.

  Teaching methods and instruction

  This is a CONTACT implementation and remote participation is not possible. Participation to all evenings is not mandatory but highly encouraged.
  
  Course learning approach is collaborative learning. Learning happens In Pasila workshops according to the Lukkari schedule, as well as individually and practising in pairs / teams outside classroom.
  
  There are three main learning objectives:
  1. To understand the concepts of coaching and facilitation, either at a basic level or by deepening one's own knowledge
  2. To observe and develop interactions and interpersonal communication and to learn the basic elements of coaching-process (dialogue, asking questions etc)
  3. Planning and implementing the facilitation process + the ability to select different facilitation methods according to objectives and situations.
  
  The course approach is very interactive. The evenings consist of discussions, interactive coaching and facilitation exercises and orientative lectures. In addition to the contact workshops, learning requires self-directed study of the topic, and the submission of two personal learning reports. The learning process will be supported by a comprehensive methodological and resource bank in the course's Moodle environment. In additional, students may form and arrange voluntary peer / sparring groups for additional practice.
  
  The course benefits all Masters students who wish to develop their coaching approach, coaching skills and competences as a facilitator.

  Each participant is independently responsible for his/her own facilitation experiment, which can be carried out in his/her own work community, in another

We will cover a variety of themes, including data ownership and control, digital economics and surveillance capitalism, power and governance of algorithmic decision making, humanization of digital technology, ethics of robotics and autonomous systems and sustainablity of digital development in general.

  The student is able to recognize some trends affecting the future of work and reflect her/his own work and role against the changes. S/he recognises the elements of organisational design and is able to explain some tensions in organisations. The student recognises different organisational concepts and ways to organise. S/he can define some approaches to organisational development and plan how to apply them in a development plan. S/he writes professional text.

  Assessment criteria - grade 3

  In addition to competences described in grade 1, s/he is able to identify ways how to develop agency at work. S/he can compare different organisational designs and their elements. S/he is able to distinguish different kinds of tensions and their consequences in organisations and explain how they emerge. S/he can select and compare different approach for organisational development and take multiple perspectives into account when planning how to apply them in practice. S/he recognises and reflects ethical questions related to change and development work. The level of student’s academic writing is mostly correct.

  In addition to competences in grade 1 and 3, the student can distinguish multiple perspectives affecting the future of work and able to evaluate which factors and trends will affect her/his own job and career. The student is able to critically assess the factors that affect her/his own work, organisational design and organisational development from different perspectives.   The course is a blended course, and its largest part is project work & report (75%). The course consists of project work (report) and five “online learning tasks”
  
  Project report. The goal is to create ”consultative report” related to the topic of digital service development. The aim is that you write a report from the perspective of ”external IT-business consultant” from the development method, development project, case, design, planning, requirement spec, UX/CX, some technology, etc. in the field of digital service development in your organization or some other context. It is not shared to others.
  
  Summary presentation. Create also 3-5 pages PPT-presentation that is a kind of summary from your project work (shared to others). If your content is confidential, describe theoretical framework or the development challenge in the general level.

  Teaching methods and instruction

  This is a CONTACT implementation and remote participation is not possible. Participation to all evenings is not mandatory but highly encouraged.
  
  Course learning approach is collaborative learning. Learning happens In Pasila workshops according to the Lukkari schedule, as well as individually and practising in pairs / teams outside classroom.
  
  There are three main learning objectives:
  1. To understand the concepts of coaching and facilitation, either at a basic level or by deepening one's own knowledge
  2. To observe and develop interactions and interpersonal communication and to learn the basic elements of coaching-process (dialogue, asking questions etc)
  3. Planning and implementing the facilitation process + the ability to select different facilitation methods according to objectives and situations.
  
  The course approach is very interactive. The evenings consist of discussions, interactive coaching and facilitation exercises and orientative lectures. In addition to the contact workshops, learning requires self-directed study of the topic, and the submission of two personal learning reports. The learning process will be supported by a comprehensive methodological and resource bank in the course's Moodle environment. In additional, students may form and arrange voluntary peer / sparring groups for additional practice.
  
  The course benefits all Masters students who wish to develop their coaching approach, coaching skills and competences as a facilitator.

  The course has lessons every week. The lessons cover the basics of data analytics applications using Python coding.
  
  The course implementation welcomes independent study of topics with the help of ready-made examples and videos, within the guidelines of the Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences.
  
  No previous experience in coding is required.

  The learning material is mainly distributed through the Moodle learning environment. The course brings together the main techniques needed for the fundamentals of data analytics.   Learning assignments

  The topics presented in the lectures are learned by doing related exercises. Assignments will be returned regularly during the course, every one or two weeks. Assignments will be given and returned via Moodle.
  
  Assignments will cover the following topics: descriptive analytics, explanatory analytics, time series and time series forecasting, predictive analytics and basics of machine learning models.

The student understands the following concepts: descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analytics as well as the characteristics of advanced data and is able to solve simple business questions, guided by the teacher.
  
  The student is able to derive and visualize dashboards, scorecards and publish those using related digital tools. The students is able to apply one or some forecasting algorithms to a business problem, instructed by the teacher. The students is able to assess the reliability and relevance of business reports.

  Assessment criteria - grade 3

  The student understands the data analytics process and can apply it independently to a simple business problem. The student understands the following concepts: descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analytics as well as the characteristics of advanced data and is able to solve simple business questions independently.

  Assessment criteria

  Assessment criteria - grade 1

  The student knows different approaches to learning and how learning can be enhanced in organizations. The student can describe processes related to learning and identify barriers and enablers to learning in the workplace.

  Assessment criteria - grade 3

  In addition to the competences described in Grade 1, the student can apply different learning concepts and approaches in her/his own organization. The student can describe processes related to learning and define both learning enablers and learning barriers in the workplace. The student can turn barriers to learn into the development prospects.

  Assessment criteria - grade 5

  In addition to the competences described in Grades 1 and 3, the student can analyse her/his own organization from the different learning perspectives and give well-grounded development suggestions based on the findings. The student can analyse and compare different learning approaches and their connections to the organisational competitiveness.

  This course replaces the course Leading Change from the previous curriculum.
  
  When the implementation type of the course is contact, online or blended it is required that the student is present during those teaching hours that are marked in the study schedule. If you are absent more than 25%, your grade will be lowered by one. If you are absent more than 50%, the course is failed.

  Independent virtual learning altogether 135 h (no contact lessons, only independent learning)
  This course an asynchronous virtual course and learning is based on independent learning during 8 week period.
  
  RPL and benefiting RPL during the course is to be agreed with the responsible lecturer (Meri Vehkaperä). If students have acquired the required competence in previous work tasks, recreational activities or on another course, they can show their competence via a demonstration and thus progress faster through their studies.
