This is a Nordplus funded project course that is implemented in Nordic-Baltic level.
Participants and instructors come three universities in Estonia, Lithuania, and Finland, and are all beginner level learners.

Swedish from Scratch -course is a blended course with a 3 ECTS virtual course and 2 ECTS intensive programme at Haaga-Helia Porvoo arranged by Nordplus Language project Swedish for beginners - Multilingualism to Enhance Employability.
Learning outcomes:
You learn the elementary structures of Swedish, and you learn to write simple texts and to use Swedish in basic everyday situations. You familiarize yourself with the basic cultural aspects of the Nordic language area. Your target level on the Common European Framework of Reference for languages is A1.

Contents
- Basics of pronunciation.
• Vocabulary to introduce yourself and to describe where you come from and what you do and what you study.
• Basic structures of the language
• First steps in understanding and speaking the language.
• Basics of writing in Swedish
• Cultural elements of the Nordic countries with emphasis on Sweden and Finland, and work life
Intensive week:
• 6 weeks of virtual studies on Moodle January - March 2024
• Intensive course at Haaga-Helia Porvoo campus 10 – 15 March 2024 (9-16)
• Language lessons and language activities in Porvoo
• Cultural and company visits with emphasis on Swedish speaking organisations.
• Board in Porvoo Sunday – Friday
• Evening programme and visit to Helsinki

Moodle Swedish from Scratch

Take your first steps in learning Swedish and get familiar with the Swedish speaking environment and culture in Finland.

Participants come three universities in Estonia, Lithuania, and Finland, and are all beginner level learners.
Online studies open for xx students.
Intensive course in Porvoo - place for 5 Haaga-Helia students. Send your letter of motivation after enrolling to the course.

No liasons to other studies.
NB the course is for absolute beginners in Swedish.
