Learning objectives
The course will present available sources of national statistics to define and understand the sport and physical activity labour market trends across the European Union. The ESSA-sport project 2016-2019, shows how to cooperate and collect information on EU-level and how to improve the future sport professionals understanding of the Physical Activity Sector. The students have possibility to collect, compare and present the information from their home countries. The course should be seen as a step of the journey to understand the changing labour markets needs and develop solutions to re-skill the individuals and the whole workforce with modern, fit for purpose training and qualifications.
Contents
Content:
· Quantitative European research methods for labour market (qualitative and quantitative methods, data collection, analysis, discussions)
· Individual Research Data related to the interest of the student.
· Data Collection and Field Studies
Implementation methods, Demonstration and Work&Study
Lectures 12 h, distance learning and independent student work including research methods. Lectures and workshops, assignments, exam/portfolio.

Assessment criteria
Assessment criteria - grade 1
The student partly recognizes the core concepts and/or methods of the systems and practices. He/she has poor knowledge needed to work in the field, so he/she needs guidance in his/her work. The student sometimes participates in group work. He/she cannot evaluate him/herself.
Assessment criteria - grade 3
The student has wide knowledge of the core concepts, theories and methods. He/she can combine many different types of information. The student masters the practice of basic and special skills which is needed for working independently. He/she displays his/her ability to solve complex problems in the area.The student participates in co-operation quite actively and diverse way. He/she can evaluate his/her own know-how in a realistic way.
Assessment criteria - grade 5
The student has wide knowledge of the core concepts, theories and the reasearch methods. He/she can combine and compare many different types of information and present the results. The student masters the practice of basic and special skills which is needed for working independently. He/she displays his/her ability to solve complex problems in the area. The student understand the sport sector widely – the challenges, threats and possibilities. The student participates in co-operation very actively and diverse way. He/she can evaluate his/her own know-how in a realistic way.
