The aim of the course is to give an overview of organisational behavior theories, i.e. factors influencing individual behavior at work. The focus in on individual, group and organisational level theories. The student will acquire competence to evaluate and analyse different aspects of organisational behavior both in theory and practice.
After the course, the student
• Understands individual level factors affecting work behavior and applies theories and concepts in practice.
• Identifies essential aspects of group dynamics and understands how it affects individual behaviour. The student knows the benefits and challenges related to group or teamwork.
• Understands organisational level processes and practices and their consequences to individuals and groups.
Implementation methods, Demonstration and Work&Study
Depending on the implementation, learning takes place in contact lessons, independent studies, teamwork and online-studies.
Recognition of prior learning (RPL)
If students have acquired the required competence in previous work tasks, recreational activities or on another course, they can show their competence via a demonstration. The demonstration must be agreed with the course teacher. Assessment criteria
Assessment criteria - grade 1
The student’s knowledge and understanding meet the course requirements satisfactorily. The student identifies narrowly theories and concepts presented in the course. The student identifies narrowly their implications to practice.
Assessment criteria - grade 3
The student’s knowledge and understanding meet the course requirements well. The student knows theories and concepts presented in the course. The student uses theories and concepts to explore real-life cases.
Assessment criteria - grade 5
The student’s knowledge and understanding meet excellently the requirements of the course. The student masters profoundly theories and concepts presented in the course. The student uses theories and concepts analytically and critically to explore real-life cases.
