This is the second course of the renewed business intelligence course setup.
It is setup as 16 week non-stop e-learning approach with the strong recommendation to utilize Zoom sessions with teacher/customer as part of submitted iterations.
The two BI-courses build on a Business Intelligence Framework, stressing the importance of creating business value, valuing the strategy alignment, imposing the importance of BI-maturity understanding and suggests the need for an agile approach to BI-development life cycles.
In this second course the student runs a project in which a BI-solution based on user stories and agile development principles are created.
The architecture utilized is Power BI Desktop - Power BI Pro (cloud) - SharePoint.
Power BI pro license will be provided by Haaga-Helia.
As the course is now 16 weeks - students that have NOT passed the BI-basic can be accepted BUT then need to first gain the proper basic knowledge during first weeks.
The amount of students accepted to one implementation is restricted by the amount of HH Power BI pro licenses available (25)

From Autumn 2023 the course starts from beginning of semester and can be done for -16 weeks.
To support student individual study situation - extra time can be granted to finish the project as long as the first iterations are done properly.

c) has excellent skills in regards to planning and developing a BI-solution
d) is mastering market leading tools to create a BI-solution

To achieve the highest grade, it would be expected that
the student:
- has worked independently
- has followed instructions and main deadlines without exceptions
- has well planned the project and presented the project planning well
- has planned and fulfilled more than just a basic solution, the created and presented solution has some specialty, some finding or includes an interesting/innovative approach or the quality is excellent overall
- has created a final solution that corresponds well to the plan or there are clear explanations and reasons why not
- has utilized good design and other capabilities of the selected tools/architecture
- has clearly applied a systematic agile approach
- has well reported and presented the solution
- is able in all communications to discuss using good BI and ICT terminology
- has fulfilled all defined requirements
Grade 3 (70%)
The student:
