Learning objectives
The student is able to recognize new business opportunities and turn them into new business ideas or organizational development ideas.
The student is able to apply the Design and Lean methodologies and equivalent tools through an iterative process to improve the business idea.
The student is able to communicate/sell the business idea.

Implementation methods, Demonstration and Work&Study
Learning takes through the Zoom (online), including small team work/workshops and lectures. Otherwise the learning is mostly based on independent studies.
If students have acquired the required competence in previous work tasks, recreational activities or on another course, they can show their competence via a demonstration. The demonstration must be agreed with the course teacher. Welcome to the Discovering Business Opportunities! In this course you will learn the necessary skills required both for a business opportunity recognition and for the development a new business idea. This course offers you a unique opportunity to learn and apply the Design and Lean methodologies in practice. In addition, you will learn how to pitch/sell your business idea in a convincing way.
Assessment criteria
Assessment criteria - grade 1
The student demonstrates limited skills in a) seeking information and b) in recognizing business opportunities
The student knows just the basics of the Design and the Lean methodologies and s(he) demonstrates limited skills in developing her/his business idea.
The student is able to present her/his business idea on a general level.
Assessment criteria - grade 3
The student demonstrates good skills in a) seeking information from various sources and b) in recognizing business opportunities
The student is able to apply both the Design and the Lean methodologies and s(he) demonstrates good skills in developing her/his business idea.
The student demonstrates good communication skills in presenting her/his business idea.
Assessment criteria - grade 5
The student demonstrates excellent skills a) in seeking and analyzing information from versatile sources and b) in recognizing business opportunities.
The student is fully fluent in applying both the Design and the Lean methodologies and equivalent tools and s(he) demonstrates strong skills in developing and justifying her/his business idea.
The student demonstrates excellent communication and selling skills in pitching her/his business idea in a convincing way.
