After having completed this course or attained an equivalent competence level, the learner / student:
• understands the relevance of United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals in business.
• is able to identify and analyze factors and stakeholders influencing sustainable development of businesses.
• is able to reflect and evaluate motivational drivers to recognize sustainable business opportunities.
• recognizes different networks influencing sustainable business opportunities.
• understands how to use resources in a sustainable manner
• perceives the process of sustainable business modelling and the underlying tools.

• Sustainable business opportunity recognition based on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations.
• Sustainable business opportunity recognition as an iterative process (incl. motivation, multiple stakeholders, networks & resources and business modelling)

Intro
This course offers you a journey to recognize business opportunities of sustainable business. You will learn to see problems as opportunities. You also learn, how to innovate new sustainable business solutions. Furthermore, you receive practical tools to develop sustainable solutions.

Assessment criteria
Assessment criteria - grade 1
When the implementation type of the course is CONTACT, ONLINE or BLENDED it is required that the student is present during those teaching hours that are marked in the study schedule. If you are absent more than 25 %, your grade will be lowered by one. If you are absent more than 50 %, the course is failed.
The student is able to understand the importance of SDGs. The student understands the overall purpose of motivation, stakeholders and networks & resources for a business opportunity recognition. The student understands some basic elements of a sustainable business model.
Assessment criteria - grade 3
In addition to requirements named in Grade 1, the student perceives the business opportunity recognition based on the SDGs as an iterative and systemic process.
Assessment criteria - grade 5
In addition to requirements named in Grades 1 and 3, the student is able to apply the sustainable business opportunity recognition to her/his previous or current work environment.
