Are you heading abroad for an internship through the FinnCham scholarship program? Great!

This mandatory course, which is part of the internship program, ensures that your international internship becomes an unforgettable experience both professionally and personally.

FinnCham preparatory course provides you with practical tools for adapting to your internship country and managing work-related tasks. During the training, you’ll get to explore organizing an international event, digital channels for B2B communication, and the culture and society of your target country. You’ll also gain valuable insights into the operations of chambers of commerce within a global network and create your own professional work skills development plan to set goals for your internship period. Welcome aboard — the training is your first step toward an unforgettable internship experience!

Learning objectives

This is a preparatory course for students participating in the FinnCham internship program. Our goal is to ensure that you have a memorable and successful internship experience abroad. To ensure this, every student participating in the FinnCham internship program will take part in FinnCham internship training (2 cr). The content of the training is designed to support both adaptation to the internship country and the successful completion of internship tasks.

Contents

Students complete preparatory assignments before the internship and submit regular reports during the internship. The course preparing students for the Chamber of Commerce internship consists of four assignments and an introduction to the activities of the Chamber of Commerce. Instructions for the assignments and where to submit them can be found on Moodle.

You will familiarize yourself with the materials and complete the assignments independently.

Publishing content on social media & using digital channels in B2B communication
Culture and society of the target country
Work skills development plan

Implementation methods, demonstration and Work&Study

The course is delivered in a VIRTUAL format. There are no optional completion methods for this course.

No prerequisites.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The course is graded on a pass/fail basis. To receive a passing grade, students must submit all course assignments for the preparatory module before leaving for their internship or according to a separately agreed schedule.
